Seeking Sister Wife season 5 will feature the return of Garrick Merrifield, one of the show’s most notorious villains, and his Instagram presence is pure narcissism on display. Garrick and his long-suffering wife, Dannielle Merrifield, were first introduced to viewers of the show in season 3, during which the Merrifields dated Roberta Pache, a woman living in Brazil. Roberta spoke no English and the Merrifields didn’t speak Portuguese, so they had to communicate entirely via translator apps.
It was clear that Dannielle struggled with jealousy, but Garrick pushed on with the relationship. However, two women weren’t enough for Garrick, so, during Seeking Sister Wife season 4, the Merrifields started dating another potential sister wife, Lea. The addition of a third woman made Roberta jealous and complicated matters, but Garrick pressed on until Lea ended the relationship. The narcissistic behavior isn’t limited to television and extends to Garrick’s Instagram account, where his posts are often very cringe.

A quick scroll of Garrick’s Instagram account offers a veritable assault on the eyes of close-up shirtless photos of the scrawny Seeking Sister Wife season 5 star. The photos of his hairless, pimpled chest are in stark contrast to the religiously tinged captions that accompany them. In a December 2022 Instagram post, Garrick writes “Let’s brings our petitions before God and know he has the solution and let’s reflect that to others. Let’s be the solution to the problems.” The mix of Garrick’s bare skin photos and God talk is bizarre, but Garrick has proven repeatedly that he lacks self-awareness.

In TLC’s official Seeking Sister Wives season 5 trailer, Garrick and Dannielle are shown talking about their philosophies on polygamy.
“Some people live this lifestyle just to have sex freely, but that would be like, wrong and evil,” Garrick explained, but his behavior says otherwise.
After the end of their relationship with Roberta, Garrick and Dannielle begin seeking a new sister wife, and are shown heatedly arguing in the trailer about Garrick’s use of dating apps.
Garrick Merrifield Seems To Disrespect Dannielle
Over the years, Garrick has repeatedly disrespected his wife, Dannielle, initially by pursuing a polygamous lifestyle that she clearly wasn’t comfortable with. After finally browbeating her into cooperating with his plans, he pushed her boundaries by wanting to impregnate Roberta while she was still living in Brazil. When Dannielle shared her discomfort with having a child live so far away, Garrick shut her down and pressed on with the effort. Though Roberta is no longer around, Garrick is sure to find new ways to disrespect Dannielle during Seeking Sister Wife season 5.
