Sister Wives: Will Kody Brown Shed The Villain Label After Garrison’s Tragic Passing? (See If My Opinion’s The Same As Yours)

After Garrison Brown’s passing, Sister Wives star Kody Brown will likely change significantly on the show. The 54-year-old patriarch was once all about growing his family. He practiced polygamy and had four wives: Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn Brown. Kody welcomed eighteen kids into his family over the last three decades. He had many biological children and also adopted Robyn’s kids from a previous marriage. Unfortunately, Kody’s drive to expand his family didn’t end well. He grew distant from his first three wives and their kids, leading them to move. Kody also didn’t do much to reconcile with them.

Kody damaged his relationship with many of his family members, including his son, Garrison. Sadly, he would no longer be able to reconcile with Garrison as, in early March, Janelle shared the tragic news on her social media, revealing that her son with Kody had passed away. Other reports quickly surfaced online, stating that the cause of Garrison’s death was suicide. Janelle asked Sister Wives fans to give them time to mourn and respect their privacy. Kody also took to his Instagram to pay tribute to his son.

Sister Wives’ Kody Brown Has Made Mistakes
Kody Liked Some Children Better Than Others

Kody Brown Sister Wives Shocked
When Kody debuted on Sister Wives, he was somewhat likable. However, the father of eighteen made too many mistakes over the years that completely shattered his family. Kody’s terrible behavior became evident in 2020 when he made COVID-19 rules and forced his family to obey them. He pushed them away, which caused him to clash with some of his family members. Kody was mostly angry at his sons, Garrison and Gabriel, as they didn’t listen to him.

He tried to get Janelle to kick them out of the house, saying, “they’re both adults, they can move out.”

Not only did Kody impose the COVID-19 rules, but he also made some of his kids upset by not caring for them. He pushed Gabriel to tears by forgetting his birthday, making him feel abandoned. He also didn’t attend his daughter Ysabel Brown’s surgery, which hurt her as well. However, Kody maintained a good relationship with some of them while not trying to reach out to others. During the previous family Christmas, Kody bought great gifts for his kids with Robyn. In comparison, he didn’t do much for his other children.

Fans despised Kody after he became more self-centered. However, he wasn’t always as obnoxious as he was following the COVID-19 pandemic. Tough circumstances change people, which is exactly what happened to Kody. When the Brown family patriarch had all his kids around him, he maintained a good relationship with them. He tried to fulfill his role the best he could; however, Kody couldn’t deal with the pressure at one point. His issues with Christine, Meri, and Janelle made him bitter. However, Garrison’s passing may change that and make him realize family matters the most.

Garrison’s tragic passing was unexpected and painful. It hurt everyone in the family, including Kody. While he may not become a fan-favorite cast member or the best husband, losing Garrison will certainly change him. Kody may feel he has inadvertently stressed out his family members over the years. The Sister Wives cast member may realize he could improve himself for his kids. Garrison’s untimely passing could lead Kody to become a better father and a responsible patriarch toward all his children, like Gabriel and Hunter.

Even if he improves himself, Kody may not lose his villain label. The Wyoming native has mistreated his family one too many times to rebuild those relationships. Christine, Janelle, and Meri have moved on, and no longer want to be part of his family; Kody can’t build a friendly relationship with them again. Kody also can’t reconcile with all the kids he abandoned. He’ll have to make big sacrifices to receive forgiveness from them.

People may feel bad for Kody due to the divorces of his three wives and Garrison’s passing. However, they won’t forgive him even if he breaks down and apologizes. Kody has done so many horrible things over the years. He called Christine names and made fun of her looks. Similarly, he asked Meri to move to a barn and melted her wedding ring. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Kody tested Janelle’s patience and forced her to kick out their sons. Kody has permanently tarnished his image, and nothing can make people forget what he has done.

Like the rest of the Brown family, Kody will forever miss Garrison. He’ll have to continue with life with this metaphorical hole in his heart that will never fully heal. It’ll be tough for the entire Sister Wives clan to pick up the now broken pieces following Garrison’s sudden death. Relationship dynamics will drastically change, and viewers will see the best and worst versions of their favorite Brown family members. The upcoming Sister Wives season may not premiere on time this year. The producers may have to postpone filming and give the family enough time to grieve.

Whatever happens, viewers will see a different side to Kody the next time he appears on TV. Janelle and Robyn will also show a different perspective. Sister Wives season 19 should be about Garrison and his life. It should show cast members taking a back seat and remembering Garrison gave them many reasons to smile. The Brown family could even decide to make Sister Wives season 19 the final season. Kody, Robyn, Janelle, Christine, and Meri could close the curtains of Sister Wives on a positive note while remembering their son.
